1) “Statement and PreparedStatement”

This short talk about the Statement and PreparedStatement objects clarifies the most important aspects related to their usage, advantages, and disadvantages. Advanced things, such as the execution plan and driver particularities, will also be covered. After this talk, developers will know what things should be taken into consideration when using each of them.

2) “Integrating BlazeDS and Spring Framework”

The SpringSource company announced Spring BlazeDS Integration, a new open source project to provide tight integration between Spring and Adobe BlazeDS, Adobe’s open source server-based Java remoting and Web messaging technology. It’s a great thing for Java developers working with Flex, taking into account the popularity of the Spring framework. This session will present the basics of the integration and a sample application developed with Spring and BlazeDS.

3) Phoenix:

This session will present a framework that can be used for portal development. By using the Flex framework, a lot of constraints from the classic portlet development can be removed and the user experience is greatly enhanced. Features, such as HTML integration, communication between applications, the ability to work with different workspaces and to save the current state will also be discussed. (20 min.)

4) MDA development with LCDS and Flex 3

Model-driven development is a software development methodology that focuses on creating models in order to be able to represent a particular domain. The methodology increases productivity and also allows everyone to understand the main business problem solved by the application. Using Adobe Flex Builder 4 and the next version of LiveС ycle Data Services, the developers will be able to build data-driven applications using a Model-Driven Development approach. This session will present the main concepts and show how to build a simple application. (40 min.)
